What is the Excretory System?

Our body eats food, drinks water, and does many activities every day.
During this process, some waste (useless substances) are formed inside the body.

 The Excretory System helps to remove these wastes from the body.

Easy Example

Think about your house
If you don’t throw garbage outside, what will happen?
The house will become dirty and you may get sick.

In the same way, if waste is not removed from our body, we can fall ill.

Main Parts of the Excretory System

There are 4 main parts:

1. Kidneys

  • We have 2 kidneys
  • They clean (filter) the blood
  • They remove waste and form urine

Kidneys = Body’s “filter machine”

2. Ureters

  • These are thin tubes
  • They carry urine from kidneys to the bladder

3. Urinary Bladder

  • It is like a bag
  • It stores urine

4. Urethra

  • It is the passage through which urine goes out of the body

Process (Step by Step)

  1. Kidneys filter the blood
  2. Waste forms urine
  3. Urine moves through ureters
  4. Urine is stored in the bladder
  5. Urine leaves the body through the urethra

This process is called urination

What wastes are removed?

  •  Extra salt
  • Extra water
  •  Urea (a harmful waste)

Important Points

  • Kidneys clean the blood
  • Urine contains urea
  • If kidneys stop working, harmful waste can build up in the body

Short Summary

 Excretory System = Body’s cleaning system
Kidneys = Filters
Urine = Liquid waste

 Human Excretory System in Easy Language

1. Kidneys

  • These are two bean-shaped organs
  • They clean the blood
  • They remove waste and make urine

Simple: Kidneys are like filters of the body

2. Aorta

  • It is a big blood vessel
  • It brings clean blood from the heart to the kidneys

Simple: Aorta sends blood to kidneys

3. Vena Cava

  • It is another big blood vessel
  • It takes cleaned blood back to the heart

Simple: Vena cava returns blood to heart

4. Renal Artery

  • It carries blood to the kidneys
  • This blood contains waste

Simple: Renal artery = brings dirty blood to kidneys

5. Renal Vein

  • It carries clean blood away from kidneys
  • Goes back to the heart

Simple: Renal vein = takes clean blood away

6. Ureter

  • These are two thin tubes
  • They carry urine from kidneys to the bladder

Simple: Ureter = pipe for urine

7. Urinary Bladder

  • It is like a bag
  • It stores urine until you go to the toilet

Simple: Bladder = storage tank

8. Urethra

  • It is the last tube
  • Urine leaves the body through this

Simple: Urethra = exit path

Full Process (Very Easy)

  1. Blood comes to kidneys
  2. Kidneys clean it
  3. Waste becomes urine
  4. Urine goes through ureter
  5. Stored in bladder
  6. Leaves body through urethra

Super Short Summary

Kidney = filter
  Ureter = pipe
  Bladder = storage
Urethra = exit
